Personal fashion stylist & shopper

FAQs

1. Should I start with a wardrobe consultation first before I take on a shopping trip?

Wardrobe consultations are extremely useful for those who need an expert opinion on what to toss or keep, or those who have lots of clothes but "nothing" to wear and want some ideas on how to maximise their current wardrobe by creating new combinations. Useful at the start of every season, it is also ideal to help identify any clothing gaps which then guides your Shopping Trip.

Wardrobe consultations are also really useful if you are trying to find better and different ways to maximise your existing wardrobe. For the price of around two tops, you could find many more new outfits from your existing wardrobe - all it takes is a stylist with a new perspective to view your wardrobe in a whole new light!

You may NOT need a wardrobe consultation if you feel you already know what you need or what it is you don't have enough of (eg. tops or going out clothes, work outfits, etc). We are always happy to discuss your needs with you and recommend the appropriate service for you.

2. I'm interested in the Smitten With Style package - can I have both the Wardrobe Consultation and the Shopping Trip in one day? Or are they two separate appointments?

We recommend that you split the package into two appointments, however we can accommodate all-in-one-day packages on request.

3. I feel I have "lost touch" with fashion, and I want to update my look, but I don't want to dress inappropriately for my age. Can you help?

Absolutely. At Smitten we firmly believe in dressing you to reflect your own personality and style. We don't dress you to look age inappropriate or like someone you don't recognise. We aim to enhance you, not change you. All of our stylists have plenty of experience working with women and men of all ages (and shapes and sizes!).

4. What is the average age of your clients?

At Smitten we have had the pleasure of working with many clients of various age groups and backgrounds, with different goals. Our clients have ranged from 16 years old to 66 year olds, and everyone in between! Whether you are time-poor, unsure about fashion, just need an independent, expert opinion or looking for a fun day out, we can help.

5. Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes. Gift vouchers are beautifully presented and valid for 6 months. The recipient will be given all the details of what service has been purchased for them, and just needs to contact us to organise an appointment time. Gift vouchers simply require a $50 deposit at the time of purchase, with the balance due after the recipient has completed his/her appointment.

6. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, personal cheque or bank transfer. Credit cards are only available via Paypal. A deposit of $100 is requested for shopping trips or wardrobe consultations and $200 for wardrobe & shopping packages, to confirm and secure your appointment. The balance is then only required within 10 days of completion of your appointment.

7. I work during the week, do you offer weekend appointments?

Yes. Smitten offers weekend appointments on both Saturday and Sunday, and Thursday late night shopping appointments.

8. Are you available for appointments any day of the week?

As we work weekends and have retail clients, we are generally closed Monday - Wednesday. We are however available all weekend!

9. Who will my stylist be?

Smitten With Style is comprised of three very senior stylists - Wendy (Head Stylist), Gemma Redhouse (Senior Stylist) and Rebecca Ford (Senior Stylist). Each of us are specialist stylists in our individual areas.

When you first contact us to make an enquiry or book an appointment, you will deal directly and only with our Head Stylist and Owner, Wendy. Wendy will discuss your needs and goals with you, and then personally match you to the right stylist FOR YOU. Having an  experienced team of stylists available means that no matter who you are or what you are looking to achieve, we have the right stylist to help you look fabulous.
